RESIDENTIAL PREGNANT & PARENTING WOMEN’S PROGRAM WITH DAYCARE
Our unique program for chemically dependent mothers with children allows addicted women to begin their treatment during pregnancy, deliver their babies while here and return to treatment without disruption. Mothers with children under age 5 may keep their children with them during their treatment. While they are in treatment sessions, the children attend our state-licensed therapeutic daycare program.
More than 100 addicted mothers and 50 children annually receive long-term residential treatment at Evergreen Manor as part of the Safe Babies, Safe Moms program. Studies of the program have found that babies born to our residents receive better prenatal care resulting in 66% better birth weight. The mothers reported lower parenting stress and there were 35% fewer reports of inadequate parenting in treated women.
MOTHERS’ TREATMENT COMPONENTS
Our treatment program is holistic, not only addressing the chemical dependency but also the variety of other issues since most young women admitted to our program also have childhood traumas and psychiatric diagnoses. With a patient-to-staff ratio of 3-to-1 and a staff of clinicians licensed in both mental health and chemical dependency, we have a unique ability to provide full service to the patient. Program components include:

While moms are in their program during the day, their children receive developmentally appropriate care in our on-site, licensed therapeutic childcare facility and staff trained in early childhood education and behavior management (including a pediatric nurse). The program features:
